HIV/PrEP Services Pharmacy Technician (Part Time)
The Mission Neighborhood Health Center (MNHC) is a non-profit, multi-site community health organization offering comprehensive health services in the Mission and Excelsior Districts of San Francisco. The center offers primary health care services, adult medicine, pediatrics, family planning, OB/GYN, HIV and homeless services.

We are currently looking for qualified candidates for our HIV/PrEP Services Pharmacy Technician role. Please note: this role requires an applicant to be bilingual (English/Spanish). This position reports to the Pharmacy Director and is a Regular, Part Time (12 hrs/week), Non-Exempt role with a starting hourly rate of $27.11.
Essential Functions/Responsibilities:
Accurately type, fill, ring up prescriptions in a timely manner
Proper handling of all medications including specialty medications that require special storage
Assist HIV/PrEP Rph with courtesy refill reminder program contacting patients to review medication list, ensure accurate contact information, insurance or payment assistance coverage, and identify situations when referral to pharmacist for review or consultation is needed
Assist HIV/PrEP Rph with existing and expanded pharmacy services ie. drug deliveries, medi-set
Sent refill requests when needed
Work closely with PrEP and HIV clinic teams to facilitate smooth prescription transfer
Input, count, pour, weight, measure, and mix medications for pharmacist to dispense
When filling medication orders, affix prescription and auxiliary labels to appropriately selected prescription container
Maintain clean and organized workspace to avoid any medication cross contamination
Contact third party payers when needed to fulfill prescriptions in a timely manner
Proactive and resolves or requests for assistance for issues quickly and efficiently
Maintains pharmacy inventory by check physical inventory on hand, anticipating medication and supply needs and pulling outdated or recalled medications as needed
Ability to preserve confidentiality of protected health information (PHI)
Maintains a safe and clean pharmacy by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
Maintain proper storage and security conditions for drugs. Clean, and help maintain equipment and work areas and sterilize glassware according to prescribed methods.
Qualifications:
- 1 year pharmacy technician experience required
- Bilingual (English and Proficient Spanish)
- Valid California Pharmacy Technician License required
- HIV/PrEP medication and billing knowledge and experience preferred
