HIV Prevention Assistant (bilingual)

Mission Neighborhood Health Center is seeking a dedicated and skilled HIV Prevention/PrEP Clinic Assistant to join our HIV Prevention Services team. The ideal candidate will provide essential support in our PrEP clinic, ensuring smooth operations and excellent patient service.The HIV Prevention/ PrEP Clinic Assistant reports to the HIV Prevention and Wellness Manager and is a Regular, Part-Time, Non-Exempt role with a starting hourly range of $25.16 to $27.04 with full benefits.
Primary Objective:
The HIV Prevention/PrEP Clinic Assistant will handle front desk coverage at the Latino Wellness Center and PrEP clinic as needed, managing appointment scheduling, greeting patients, and addressing inquiries. They will also provide general clerical support for grant-related tasks, including filing, documentation, and correspondence. Additionally, the role involves accurate data entry and maintenance to ensure patient information is up-to-date and confidential. The assistant will support research activities related to HIV prevention and PrEP services, assisting with data collection and analysis as needed.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Front Desk Coverage: Greet and assist patients at the LWC and PrEP clinic, manage appointment scheduling, and handle patient inquiries as needed.
- Clerical Support: Provide general grant clerical assistance, including filing, documentation, and correspondence.
- Data Entry: Accurately enter and maintain patient data, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with health regulations.
- Research: Assist with research tasks related to HIV prevention and PrEP services, including data collection and analysis.
- Testing: Support the team in performing and interpreting HIV and STI rapid tests as needed, ensuring timely and accurate results for patient care.
- Meetings: Participate in various weekly HIV services staff meetings, in-services and trainings, as well as required MNHC meetings. (All-Staff, etc).
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Proficiency in Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Knowledge of PrEP (Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis) and HIV prevention practices.
- Bilingual in Spanish and English, with excellent communication skills in both languages.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and show effective judgment in dealing with the diverse population with multiple needs.
- Demonstrated ability to manage large data sets and constructively analyze data to promote evidence-based practice.
- Ability to communicate effectively with target groups.
- Ability to work professionally and ethically within multicultural settings, including ability to maintain confidentiality and privacy of persons, documents, data, and communications.
- Sensitivity to HIV/AIDS and Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, and Transgender issues.
